Description Spiritual Practices to Nourish Your Soul

Do you desire practical tools to nurture your connection with others and with a power greater than all of us? This monthly series will provide practices to strengthen your inner goodness and spiritual well-being, enabling you to live more fully in the present moment with love, gratitude and compassion. A collaborative team of leaders will share practices from the world’s spiritual traditions. Each gathering will include an overview of the practice, time to experience or reflect on the practices, conversation and questions. We will gather on the last Monday of every month.

November 29: Detachment The practice of detachment as a beneficial spiritual tool long precedes the contemporary society and culture in which we find ourselves today. And while ancient in its existence, the wisdom of its integration into our spiritual journey is timeless. Join us as we unpack exactly what living with detachment is and how it can benefit us as spiritual beings on the human journey. Opportunities for meditation, dialogue and, journaling will be included alongside naming personal and global ways to embrace detachment more fully. Facilitator: Gordon Creamer

December 20: Lectio Divina is a Latin phrase that simply means sacred reading. It is an ancient spiritual practice that involves setting aside our typically intellectual or effortful way of reading in favor of listening, pondering, and noticing with the ears of our heart. Its origins date back to at least the sixth century when the readings were strictly Christian scripture. Today, the readings may be from any source including poetry or sacred text from all traditions. In this week before Christmas, join us as we listen to a contemporary translation of a sacred seasonal text and notice what invitation stirs in our spirits. Facilitator: Lorie Conway.
