Making Peace with Fear: The Empowering Gifts of Fear and Uncertainty
As we confront the threats of corona virus, isolation and economic instability, what do we do with the fear that is within and around us? As life changes daily, how do we navigate the challenges of uncertainty? How is life calling us to respond? For over 35 years Heidi Thompson has led many on the path to understanding fear and finding peace. Join us for this four-session program and learn what fear is, how it affects you and why it arises in times of danger and uncertainty. Explore ways of responding that enable you to make wise decisions and minimize anxiety, rather than sink into denial, confusion or overwhelm. See how fear can connect you with your inner creative resources. Discover how, without this knowledge, fear can control you.
Please join us for four interactive sessions in which together we explore the realities of fear, and the ways we can use fear as a light leading us forward on a sacred path. All sessions will include guided meditations, questions for reflection and journaling and small group discussions.
Session 1: We explore what we fear and why, and how we respond to fear. We will look at the different fears that arise in each of us as life rapidly changes and swirls around us. (3/30/21)
Session 2: We continue with uncertainty and fear, how we react and what we can do about our reactions. We will explore uncomfortable feelings, anxiety (future fear), the role of intuition and learning to trust, risk assessment and how to create safety. (4/6/21)
Session 3: We look at the sociology of fear - how fear impacts and changes our culture, and how that impacts us individually. We consider the contagious nature of fear and why some call fear ‘the enemy’. And, we explore the possibility of changing our perception and seeing fear as a trustworthy ally. (4/13/21)
Session 4: We look at developing a healthy relationship with fear. How can we make friends with fear and use fear effectively to benefits ourselves, those we love, our communities and the world? We explore a 4-step process to access the power in fear. (4/20/21)

TIME: 2-4 PM EDT
